Course outline:
08.30 - 12.30 hrs Morning session consisting of lectures & demonstrations:
- Principles of ICG & NIR Imaging
- Clinical Applications (colorectal, HPB, gynaecology, urology)
- Video session: Pitfalls & Tips
- Live/Recorded Demonstrations
13.30 - 13.15 hrs Lunch
13.15 - 18.00 hrs Afternoon session consisting of hands-on training
- Station 1: Perfusion assessment (bowel anastomosis)
- Station 2: Biliary mapping & lymphatics
- Station 3: Ureteral identification & pelvic anatomy
- Station 4: Tumour margin delineation & innovations
Including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, rectal resection, ureteral mapping, and advanced phantom exercises
Target audience: Surgical trainees and specialists in minimally invasive surgery (general surgery, colorectal, gynaecology, urology).
Course objectives:
- Understand the principles of ICG fluorescence and near-infrared (NIR) imaging.
- Learn the main clinical applications of ICG in minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
- Acquire hands-on experience in image-guided procedures for safe and effective surgical decision-making.
- Discuss current evidence, limitations, and future perspectives of fluorescence-guided surgery.
