DR. FRANCISCO JAVIER OCHOA CARRILLO
Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Proudly graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG), with registration: 190666, university degree awarded by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) by incorporation.
Postgraduate studies at the “Dr. Ángel Leaño” (UAG), the National Institute of Nutrition “Salvador Zubirán”, the General Hospital of the National Medical Center, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) and the National Cancer Institute of Mexico (INCan), where the Residency in the specialty of Oncological Surgery.
His enthusiasm took him to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, USA. to learn about the sophisticated techniques of skull base and craniofacial surgery, which he developed and implemented upon his return to INCan.
His interest in the quality of life of cancer patients motivated him to train in surgical-prosthetic techniques for voice rehabilitation at the Indiana Methodist Hospital Indianapolis, USA.
He has made different academic visits to oncology hospital institutions, both in Europe and the American Union.
He developed an entire program of conservative, reconstructive and rehabilitation surgery in the Head and Neck Department of the INC, where he became the Head of the area and later the Surgery Division. He currently works in the Surgery Subdirectorate, and has developed experience in the management of oncological emergencies.

Due to his background of academic training and endoscopic experience, artificial nutritional support, pain, palliative care, psycho-oncology, hyperbaric medicine and rehabilitation, he has been a driving force in the development of these areas in Mexican oncology, interrelating the specialty of oncology (surgery). , medical, radiotherapy, pathology, imaging, endoscopy, psychopathology, oncological pediatrics, palliative care, support and rehabilitation), has special interest in palliation, quality of life of cancer patients once treated and especially in the areas of support to climacteric and geriatric patients.
He is passionate about inter- and multidisciplinary management, although his passion is tumor surgery, especially of the gastrointestinal tract (stromal and neuroendocrine tumors), as well as special interest in hepatic-pancreatic-biliary tumors, breast, gynecological, head and neck, skin, soft tissues, bone tumors and thorax.

He has a long career in undergraduate and graduate teaching, being a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), as well as other higher education institutions. Was

Researcher in Medical Sciences, of the Coordination of National Institutes of Health. He was the Coordinator for the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines in Cancer. He is currently president of the Research Committee with COFEPRIS certification, of the Hospital Ángeles del Pedregal (HAP) and is a Member of the National System of Researchers (SIN).

He held the Presidency of the Mexican Society of Oncology (SMeO) during the 2004-2005 biennium; from the International College of Surgeons, North American Federation, Mexico Section (ICS) 2007-2008. President of the Mexican Council of Oncology, A. C. (CMOncol.) 2014-2016. He is currently president of the Mexican Association for the Fight Against Cancer (AMLCC). 2017-. He is academic vice president of the AESCULAP Academy Foundation (FAA) and currently vice president of the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics (ANMB) 2022-2024.

He began his private practice at the Humana del Pedregal Hospital, now Ángeles del Pedregal Hospital (HAP), of the Angeles Group, Health Services (GASS), belonging to the Oncology Group of which he is its president; Manages surgical oncology in general.
