Craig is a Colorectal Surgeon practicing at the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Sydney and the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne.
He has extensive experience managing Colorectal Cancer, in particular using a minimally invasive approach with both laparoscopic and robotic surgery, being the first to perform robotic colorectal surgery in Australasia in 2009.
Craig completed his General Surgical Fellowship in New Zealand, with post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, and St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. He holds a Masters degree in surgery and has published over 110 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is a Fellow of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand and International Fellow of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne.
He is on the Board of Governors of ELSA (Endo-Lap Surgeons of Asia), and a Founding Board Member of APELS (Asia Pacific Endo-Lap Surgery Group), founded to promote and teach laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical skills in the Asia-Pacific region.
