Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua.
Specialist in General Surgery and Urology.
From 1985 to 1999 he worked as a 1st Level Manager at the General Surgery of the Treviso Regional Hospital, with training in the fields of oncological, thoracic and organ transplant surgery. During this period he attended and collaborated with important national and foreign centers in the development of advanced minimally invasive surgery, especially oncological, functional and inflammatory abdominal and thoracic.
For over 20 years he has been Director of the Complex Operational Structure at various hospitals, and currently Director of the U.O.C. of Surgery 2 of the "Spedali Civili" of Brescia.
Former Adjunct Professor at the Schools of Specialization in General Surgery at the Universities of Florence, Genoa, Naples and Trieste.
Visiting Professor at the University of Belgrade (Serbia), Cluj and Timisoara (Romania).
Consultant general surgeon at the Dubai Health Authority.
Teacher and tutor at various Italian training schools for minimally invasive methods.
Honorary member and founder of the major scientific societies of minimally invasive surgery in the Balkans.
He has been a consultant for minimally invasive methods at some national health agencies.
He has actively contributed to the patent and development of some surgical aids for minimally invasive surgery for some multinational companies, of which he is currently an opinion leader.
Over 80 scientific publications in national and foreign printed journals, author of 3 printed volumes of surgical technique. You-Tube channel dedicated to video surgical technique and website www.giustopignata.com.
He has performed as the first operator in over 5,000 surgeries in the context of all general surgery (thoracic and abdominal), particularly with minimally invasive methods.
He has participated as a speaker, operator at over 300 scientific conferences in Italy and abroad. Member of the most important National and Foreign Scientific Societies.

Branches of interest: gastroesophageal surgery (oncological, inflammatory and functional), colorectal surgery (oncological, inflammatory and functional, rectal prolapse, rectocele, obstructed defecation syndrome, constipation, proctology), obesity surgery, abdominal wall (hernias and hernias), endocrine surgery (adrenal and pancreas), endometriosis surgery. All my clinical practice is focused on reducing trauma of the abdominal wall by favoring minimally invasive techniques.
