Selman Uranues is interested in minimally invasive surgery, as well as visceral traumatology and acute care surgery.
His interest in surgical research coincided with the dawn of the age of minimally invasive surgery and he was one of its early advocates, proceeding from experimental studies to ever more demanding clinical applications with ever smaller instruments and increasingly sophisticated techniques.
In the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery he served as Chairman of the Education and Training Committee as well as the Scientific Program Committee and presided over the Association’s Congress in Vienna in 2013.
