Dr. Stephanie A. Valente is the Director of the Cleveland Clinic Western Region Breast Program as well as Medical Director of the Fairview Hospital, Moll Breast Center. She is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine and Case Western Reserve University and is the Director for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship program.
Dr. Valente joined the Clinic in 2011 after completing her Surgical Breast Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she received specialty training in oncoplastic breast surgery.
Dr. Valente has a strong interest in advanced surgical techniques including minimally invasive breast surgery, hidden scars, oncoplastic surgery and nipple sparing mastectomy. She also is active in research for development of innovative surgical procedures to prevent lymphedema. She has a passion for treating young women with breast cancer as well as those with genetic and high-risk disease.
Dr. Valente is a speaker both nationally and internationally and has written numerous peer-review journal articles and book chapters in the field of breast cancer and disease.
She is an active member in the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, Association of Academic Surgeons, Midwest and Central Surgical Societies as well as the Cleveland Surgical Society Past-president.
