Dr. Hope is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and is the Academic Chair for Surgery for the Novant/New Hanover Regional Medical Center Residency Program in Wilmington, North Carolina. He graduated medical school at MUSC in Charleston, SC and then completed a General Surgery Residency Program at the Greenville Hospital now Prisma Health. He then completed a 2-year MIS fellowship at Carolinas medical center/Atrium Health.
He is the past President of the Americas Hernia Society and is a Board Member of the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative Foundation. His research interest include hernia surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical education publishing over 100 peer review articles and 15 book chapters related to these topics.
